Now, with Laxman Utekar's Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, there's a lot of excitement in the air. This film dives into the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, whose legendary bravery is still talked about today.

Chhaava, with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, follows the journey of the Maratha King as he steps into his father Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's shoes after his passing. It showcases his rise as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his fierce battles against the Mughals. A key focus of the movie is Sambhaji Maharaj's bold attack on Burhanpur, which turns out to be a major blow to Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, leading to an intense showdown in the Deccan.

Laxman Utekar's film really shines with its captivating and concise storyline. It stays true to the plot without wandering off, which is great. However, the historical epic does struggle a bit with its momentum at times, especially towards the climax. While the first half is super engaging and packed with energy, some scenes after the break feel a bit dragged out, turning the second half into more of a slow burn.

What really stands out in this film is Laxman Utekar's direction. Making a movie based on historical events is no easy feat, but the director has done a fantastic job, keeping the story's historical importance front and center. Plus, Ajay Devgn's narration, the background score, AR Rahman's music, and the stunning locations really enhance the overall vibe of the film.

The dialogues by Rishi Virmani and Irshad Kamil pack a punch and are definitely one of the best parts of Chhaava. While most of the action scenes are well done, a few feel a bit off. Also, the transitions between some scenes could use a little smoothing out.

When it comes to performances, Vicky Kaushal truly shines, showcasing his incredible acting chops and delivering what might be his best performance yet. His presence is felt in both the emotional and action-heavy moments. Rashmika Mandanna also impresses as Maharani Yesubai, especially in the scenes where her character has to make tough choices.

Akshaye Khanna does a decent job playing Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, though it shines in certain moments. The rest of the cast, including Vineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, really hold their own and support the film nicely.
