1. Avoid intense cardio and daily workouts
The initial step towards achieving a defined waist is to refrain from engaging in intense cardio and exercising six days a week. According to the fitness coach, many believe that frequent workouts will yield better results. However, for numerous women, particularly those aged 30 and above, these high-intensity workouts can elevate cortisol levels, which in turn diminishes metabolism and leads to the accumulation of unwanted belly fat.
Gen noted that she began to observe improved results when she limited her workouts to three sessions per week at home and incorporated walking for 15 to 20 minutes once or twice daily.
2. Stop cutting out your favourite foods
Numerous individuals hold the belief that the sole method for weight loss involves adhering to a strict diet, limiting caloric intake, forgoing all enjoyable foods, and consuming chicken breast and egg whites multiple times daily.
However, Gen pointed out that calorie restriction and the elimination of favourite foods are the very factors contributing to stagnation in weight loss. This approach is not viable for the long term. “I continue to enjoy all my favourite foods in moderation while ensuring that I prioritize my protein intake and hydration. This strategy keeps me feeling full and satisfied, thereby minimizing cravings,” she elaborated.
3. Persevere
“Let’s face it: when you are juggling your career, family, and social commitments, the last thing you want to worry about is your dietary choices for weight loss. The most frustrating aspect is that even if you devise a personal program, you cannot be certain of its effectiveness. Consequently, when results are not evident within two weeks, we often abandon our efforts and seek alternative solutions. However, I assure you that this cycle only perpetuates your challenges,” the fitness coach remarked. She recommended seeking assistance and guidance from a qualified professional.
