2 months ago | 5 Views
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is often promoted as a possible aid for weight loss, with some individuals asserting that consuming it before meals can facilitate weight reduction. Jessie Inchauspé, a French biochemist, author, and health specialist recognized for her research on glucose regulation and its effects on general health, discussed methods for integrating ACV into daily practices during a podcast. In response, Dr. Kunal Sood, a medical doctor based in the United States, elaborated on the potential advantages of ACV for weight loss.
Apple cider vinegar may enhance weight loss
Jessie stated that consuming apple cider vinegar mixed with a tall glass of water before a meal may decrease the glucose levels from that meal by as much as 30 per cent. In response to her video, Dr. Sood commented in a recent Instagram post, affirming that ingesting vinegar before a meal can indeed slow the rise in blood glucose levels. He noted that apple cider vinegar is the most extensively studied variety, primarily due to its acetic acid content, which inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates into sugar. This effect is particularly advantageous for individuals who are pre-diabetic or diabetic, and it may also support weight loss efforts.
Dr. Sood further advised that if one wishes to try this method, it is advisable to dilute 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a large glass of water and consume it 20 to 30 minutes before eating. He emphasized the importance of dilution to prevent irritation to the throat or stomach and recommended consulting with a healthcare professional to determine if this approach is suitable for individual health needs.
How to use ACV for weight loss
⦿ Dilute the ACV: Mix 1-2 tablespoons of ACV with a glass of water.
⦿ Drink before meals: Consume the ACV mixture 20-30 minutes before meals to help with appetite suppression and digestion.
⦿ Start with a small dose: Begin with a small dose (1 tablespoon) and gradually increase, as needed.
Although apple cider vinegar (ACV) may offer certain advantages for weight management, it is crucial to recognize that it should not serve as a substitute for a balanced diet and consistent physical activity. It is advisable to seek guidance from a healthcare professional prior to incorporating any new supplements or treatments into your weight loss regimen.
