Fitness influencer Liza Marie Pasquale, who previously weighed nearly 300 pounds (approximately 136 kg), has successfully transformed her life through a balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle, and a dedicated weight-loss regimen, resulting in a loss of nearly 160 pounds (64 kg). She currently weighs around 73 kg. Liza frequently shares insights on diet and exercise on her Instagram account. Recently, however, she addressed the often-overlooked realities of weight loss in a new video.

‘It's always YOU vs YOU’

Numerous influencers and health coaches on social media document their fitness journeys, which can serve as motivation. However, this can also lead to detrimental comparisons between one's own body and those of others. Liza emphasized that as one embarks on a weight-loss journey, it is unlikely that they will resemble the influencer or fitness model who initially inspired them. She referred to this as the harsh reality of weight loss.

In her video, she included the caption, “Weight loss HARSH TRUTH. You will not look like her. Read that, and then read it again! I had to learn this the hard way, and I developed an unhealthy relationship with my body image in the process. I wish I knew it sooner and was kinder to myself and my body at times. This journey is really YOU vs YOU. Make your goal to become the healthiest, happiest, and most elevated version of YOU.”

‘You will not look like her’

In the video, Lisa emphasizes that "You will not resemble her" and highlights that the weight loss journey is fundamentally about "you versus you," rather than "me versus you." If your motivation to lose weight stems from an influencer with ideal glutes or well-defined arms, it is crucial to remember that you are not aiming to become that person. "You do not share the same metabolism, genetics, bone structure, or age," she clarified.

According to Lisa, after successfully losing 140 pounds, she frequently receives inquiries regarding her sleep patterns, dietary choices, and exercise routine. "However, if I were to share those specifics and you followed my regimen exactly, you would not achieve my appearance," she remarked. The fitness influencer admitted that she often finds herself comparing her progress to that of others. Nevertheless, she consciously refrains from doing so and encourages others to adopt the same mindset.
