Secrets to a Slim Waist: 5 Belly-Toning Workouts from a Mom Who Lost 14 Kgs

Fitness influencer and Instagram user Dhara, a mother of two, has undergone a remarkable transformation during her postpartum journey, successfully losing over 30 pounds (approximately 14 kg). The process of giving birth is inherently challenging for women, and the subsequent healing of their bodies is crucial. While regaining physical fitness should take a backseat to health and recovery, many women aspire to achieve this goal.
In a recent video, Dhara presented five exercises that contributed to reducing her abdominal size. According to her, these beginner-friendly exercises are safe for postpartum recovery, including for those who have undergone C-sections. She recommended that her followers perform these exercises five to six times a week for a month to observe tangible results.
How to get a flat tummy?
In the video, Dhara candidly acknowledged the difficulties mothers face in prioritizing their health and maintaining consistency. “There’s a plethora of misinformation that leads us to believe that eliminating the postpartum belly is unattainable. After my C-section, I feared I would need to resort to extreme dieting or rigorous workouts to see progress. However, that is not the solution. Gradual workouts combined with a balanced, high-protein diet can yield significant results,” she explained.
5 exercises to lose belly fat
In her video, Dhara demonstrated five variations of leg raises and core-engagement exercises, along with essential tips to consider while performing them:
1. Complete 10 repetitions for each exercise.
2. Aim for 2-3 sets of each exercise.
3.Maintain slow and controlled movements.
4.Prioritize proper breathing and core engagement over speed or intensity.
5. Inhale and exhale, drawing the belly button towards the spine with each repetition.
The fitness influencer disclosed that the 'before' image she shared in the video does not represent her true starting point. Prior to focusing on her abdominal fat, she had already lost over 14 kg. During her weight loss journey, she was diagnosed with Diastasis Recti (DR), but learning to heal her core significantly altered her approach. “It’s important to remember that exercise alone is not a panacea; nutrition and a slight calorie deficit are also essential! Let’s focus on healing, building strength, and feeling our best,” she concluded.
