People are always on the lookout for the latest health trends, whether it's Keto or intermittent fasting. Celebrities often lead the charge in these diet crazes (not shocking, right?), and some have even started using weight loss medications like Ozempic to drop those extra pounds. However, actress Pooja Chopra emphasizes the importance of embracing her body and making personal choices about her appearance and well-being.

Pooja isn't a fan of trendy diets

While many individuals spend a significant portion of their adult lives on various diets, Pooja Chopra shares in an interview with HT Lifestyle that she doesn't fall into that category. The former Miss India World 2009, who represented India at Miss World 2009, states, “I avoid fad diets because I know what works for me. Why take unnecessary risks? I’m proud to say I’ve never been swayed by trends—whether it’s a fad diet or anything else.”

Pooja embraces self-love and takes pride in her journey to this mindset. She explains, “I don’t overindulge. I enjoy a variety of foods, but I do so in moderation. I make sure to eat every 2-3 hours, whether it’s a banana, cucumber, chocolate, or something else. I like to eat until I’m nearly full, but I never overdo it.”

She mentions that she dislikes being dependent on anything in her life, including her eating habits. Pooja doesn’t deprive herself of the foods she enjoys; she sips chai every other day and treats herself to desserts during holidays. “When I’m on vacation, I don’t hold back. Whether it’s gulab jamun or ras malai, I enjoy it all. But at home, I stick to healthier options,” she adds.

What does Pooja Chopra eat in a typical day?

Pooja maintains a healthy diet but doesn’t let food consume her thoughts from morning till night. When talking about her daily meals, she shares, “Every morning, I kick off my day with coconut water — it’s refreshing and hydrating, and I enjoy it all year long. For breakfast, I usually have something nutritious like sweet potato paratha, upma, avocado toast, or idli-dosa.”

She continues, “Since I’m gluten intolerant, there’s no wheat in my house. For lunch, I stick to ragi roti or brown rice paired with dal or sabzi. Dinner typically consists of a salad with chickpeas, broccoli, or other veggies, or sometimes a soup made with beetroot and tomato or spinach, usually around 7:30 pm. I also sip on vegetable juice, which is a mix of cucumber, beetroot, and carrot, between my workouts and meals, before lunch. After exercising, I might have a protein shake too.”

What types of workouts does Pooja Chopra enjoy?

Pooja dedicates herself to being mindful of both her diet and exercise habits. She shares, “I hit the gym five days a week and take two days off to let my body recover. While I usually work out at the gym, I tend to get bored, so my trainer has created a variety of routines for me. Sometimes I do swimming or kickboxing, and other times I focus on weight training or MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).”

She continues, “I really enjoy spinning and the way it makes my body feel the next day. I can definitely feel the soreness in my abs, glutes, and my whole lower body.” Pooja is also looking forward to starting badminton and squash sessions in the next few weeks.

Swears by meditation for boosting her mental well-being

Meditation has definitely become the popular choice for boosting energy and easing anxiety. Pooja shares how focusing her mind and meditating has greatly improved her mental health. She explains, “Meditation is what helps me relax. I kick off my day with it. I just started this recently, and I can really feel the positive effects. I spend about 10 minutes in my living room right after I wake up—before I even brush my teeth. Since I’m an early riser, I usually do this around 7:30 am.”

What are the beauty tips from Pooja Chopra?

The actor shares, "I have really sensitive skin, so I can't even use sunscreen. I just stick to my face wash for cleansing and taking off light makeup, and I only use products that work for me. That's all I do—nothing else touches my skin. I also like to use an oats scrub mixed with water, and sometimes I mix sugar with water for my face. Before I do my makeup for shoots, I dip my face in iced water. Plus, I incorporate gua sha into my routine."
