It is common to see individuals facing a type of 'transition stress,' particularly when the new surroundings contrast sharply with their home culture.”

Leaving your home can be a challenging experience, as it often requires time to adapt and establish a sense of belonging in a new environment. During this transition, feelings of loneliness and homesickness are common.
Dr Dandekar recommended several effective strategies to combat loneliness. Additionally, acquiring practical skills for daily living can facilitate adjustment to the new setting. This process may take up to a year or even longer, influenced by personal circumstances and the cultural differences between your previous and new surroundings.”

In contrast, children may struggle to grasp the rationale behind the move and instead concentrate on what they are leaving behind, such as their old friends and the comfort of their familiar school environment. Dr. Dandekar advised, "Parents should recognize and address their children's concerns, strive to maintain familiar routines whenever possible, such as mealtimes or cultural practices, and promote involvement in school or community activities.
