MEDSRX explained
Dr Krishna articulated in the video that enhancing immunity necessitates a focus on mental health. He recommended engaging in some form of meditation daily. Regarding physical activity, he advised selecting a type of exercise that resonates with you and committing to it consistently each day. Options include yoga, gym workouts, pranayama or anulom vilom, leisurely walks, brisk walking, or achieving a daily target of 10,000 steps.
In discussing the significance of diet, Dr. Krishna emphasized that consuming "good and clean food" can significantly bolster your immune system. He recommended a vegetarian diet when possible, but for those who consume meat, he advised sticking to chicken and fish, specifically white meat, while avoiding red meat.
Sleep is also crucial for strengthening the immune system. Dr Krishna stated, "Aim for quality sleep, even if it is just six hours, although eight hours is ideal. Try to retire for the night by 10 PM and wake up at a time that suits you, whether that be 4, 5, or 6 AM."
When addressing the 'R' in MEDSRX, which represents relationships, Dr. Krishna noted that all the aforementioned practices would be futile if one's relationships were not robust. Therefore, it is important to maintain close connections with loved ones. Finally, the 'X' signifies the X-factor, which involves engaging in activities that you genuinely enjoy.
