She posted the video on March 21, mentioning, “There are plenty of other foods that can effectively boost gut health, but these are some simple and quick options you can easily find at home to help you out.”

4 foods that can improve your gut health

Deepshikha recommends that to improve your gut health, you should include the four specific foods she mentioned in your diet.

1. Curd

The nutritionist kicks off the video by recommending curd or yogurt. Deepshika emphasizes that you should include these in your diet since they are packed with lactobacillus bacteria. This can boost your gut health and provide a good dose of probiotics.

For those who might not know, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) explains that lactobacilli belong to a group of bacteria known as lactic acid bacteria, which are defined by their ability to produce lactic acid as the primary byproduct of breaking down carbohydrates.

2. Healthy fats

Eating high-quality fats can also help improve your gut health. According to the nutritionist, options like nuts, seeds, and olive oil are great choices. "They really help to fortify the gut lining and can also lower inflammation," she explained.

3. Veggies and high-fibre diet

The third food the nutritionist recommended in her video is vegetables, along with a diet rich in fiber. She mentioned that fiber is great for your gut, as it nourishes the beneficial bacteria, leading to better gut health.

4. Coffee

If you're looking to boost your gut health, don't forget to add a cup of black coffee to your list. According to Deepshikha, "Black coffee is packed with polyphenols that can enhance and fortify your gut health."
