Nonu, a digital creator from India, frequently shares her experiences regarding her weight loss journey. She successfully reduced her body weight from 130 kg to 64 kg, achieving a loss of over half her original weight. In a recent post on her Instagram account, @nonuphhile, she outlined seven surprising changes that may occur following significant weight loss, such as being taken more seriously by others and experiencing alterations in shoe size.

In her video, she stated, “Hello, if you are on a weight loss journey like I was, it is important to be aware of certain challenges you may encounter after shedding the pounds.”

Nonu proceeded to enumerate the potential outcomes of substantial weight loss. Here are her observations:

Loose skin

“Significant weight loss often results in considerable loose skin. I opted for surgical removal of mine (gesturing to her arms), but I still have it in certain areas (indicating her stomach),” she explained.

Sensitivity to cold

Nonu remarked, “With reduced body fat, you may find yourself feeling colder more frequently, as I do.”

Different treatment

“People will interact with you differently; even your male friends may begin to flirt with you. Additionally, I find that others take me more seriously now,” she noted.

Body dysmorphia

She also mentioned, “The perception of body dysmorphia can persist. When you are overweight, you might believe that losing weight will resolve all your issues; however, that is not the case. In my mind, I still perceive myself as overweight, which can be challenging at times.”

Shoe size

She continued, “Your shoe size may change. I previously wore a UK size 9, but now a UK size 8 or even 7.5 fits me.”

Uncomfortable to sit

“Seating on hard surfaces can be uncomfortable. I no longer have a significant amount of padding,” Nonu remarked.

Everything is big

She concluded, “Items such as belts and seat belts tend to be excessively long. Towels also appear to be quite large.”
