Bryan Johnson Says Extra Virgin Olive Oil Outperforms Ozempic for Weight Loss and Health
11 days ago | 5 Views
Bryan Johnson, a US entrepreneur and a trailblazer in anti-aging and longevity, mentioned that he takes a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) with every meal, calling it the ultimate superfood. He even likened EVOO to Ozempic for its possible advantages in managing weight and controlling glucose.
Bryan Johnson talks about the perks of using extra virgin olive oil
In an episode of the All The Diary Of A CEO podcast on August 3, 2024, he mentioned, 'What simple and effective things can I incorporate into my life that will have a big impact? Extra virgin olive oil is right at the top of the list. It's even better than Ozempic.' While Ozempic is a drug aimed at controlling blood sugar and helping with weight loss, EVOO brings a bunch of health perks that could make it a great fit for a weight loss plan. According to Bryan, both Ozempic and EVOO might help boost the release of GLP-1, a hormone that helps manage appetite and blood sugar. EVOO, which is high-quality oil made from the first pressing of olives, is known for being one of the healthiest oils out there because of its rich nutrients and potential health benefits.

I use a tablespoon for every meal I have
He mentioned a study where folks dropped 5.2 pounds after using EVOO for nine weeks alongside their regular diet. The amount used in the study was around 45 ml a day, which falls between 30-60 ml daily. Plus, it’s known to cut invasive breast cancer risk by over 60 percent, lower blood sugar levels by 60 percent after meals, and reduce oxidized LDL levels. However, the downside is that your body can cause 80 percent damage after eating. So, I make sure to have a tablespoon of olive oil with every meal because it’s like the ultimate superfood.
Bryan Johnson's claim that 'olive oil is better than Ozempic' isn't backed by science, but the perks of EVOO make it a great choice for a healthy diet. It might not directly replace Ozempic, but adding it to a balanced diet could help with weight management and blood sugar control, as suggested by a study from August 2019 on Ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.
