In a May 2023 interview with The Times of India, Sharmila stated, “I have always believed in the value of traditional beauty practices. Attaining healthy and luminous skin requires an understanding that it is not an overnight process. One must commit to consistent efforts and adhere to a proper skincare regimen to achieve supple and healthy skin. Growing up in a joint family, I absorbed skincare wisdom from my elders and relied on the raw forms of flowers, herbs, and essential oils such as nargis and kumkumadi oil, nagamotha and bahumanjari oil, chandan (sandalwood), and badamam oil. These ancient beauty staples have supported me from my youth to the present, ensuring my skin remains radiant and naturally glowing.”
When inquired about the secret to her enduring and luminous beauty, Sharmila responded: “Self-discipline, a balanced diet, positive thinking, and a regular sleep schedule all play a role in achieving bright skin. I have consistently used natural skincare products like fresh flowers, kumkumadi oil, and tulsi, as I believe that natural ingredients are both simple and effective... My three favorite natural components are nargis flowers, kumkumadi oil, and chandan (sandalwood).”
