‘Age is just a number, staying youthful is a choice’
In her own words, Roshni reflects, “I once wondered, 'Who goes to the gym at this age?' Two years ago, I was diagnosed with knee arthritis and suffered a back injury. The medical professionals suggested there was no hope for improvement. However, my son had faith in me. He insisted that I join him at the gym. Now, at 70, I am deadlifting 70 kg weekly, leg pressing 120 kg three times a week, and consistently attending workouts. Age is merely a number; maintaining a youthful spirit is a conscious decision.”
The accompanying caption states, “Introducing Mrs. Roshni Devi — At 70, I am lifting weights, leg pressing 120 kg, and engaging in daily cardio, a reality I never envisioned. Just two years prior, knee arthritis and a back injury rendered simple tasks excruciating. While doctors were skeptical about my recovery, my son was determined. 'This cannot continue; you must go to the gym,' he urged. Initially hesitant and self-conscious, I began my journey, questioning, 'Is this the right age for the gym?' However, with each step, I gained strength. Today, I move freely, prepare meals for my family, visit the temple, and look forward to my workouts. The gym not only restored my physical health but also revitalized my life.”
