Banana recipes for weight loss: How does it help?

There are many health benefits of bananas, and one of them is weight loss. Here’s how it helps shed the extra kilos:

1. Loaded with fibre

Bananas are a rich source of fibre, found a study published in the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, which keeps you feeling fuller for longer. This can help reduce cravings and minimise overeating, helping you lose weight. Plus, fibre helps digestion by adding bulk to stools, preventing constipation, and promoting regular bowel movements. A healthy digestive tract improves overall health and can help with weight loss. Also, fibre slows the absorption of glucose into the system, reducing blood sugar spikes and falls.

2. Natural sweeteners

“Bananas have natural sugars that can fulfil your sweet craving without adding sugar. This is especially useful when you are attempting to cut back on sugary treats from your diet to achieve your weight loss goal. It also helps in preventing sudden spikes in your blood sugar levels. This can assist in maintaining stable energy levels while preventing cravings,” says the expert.

3. Boosts metabolism

Bananas contain resistant starch, a type of fibre that can help boost metabolism. An increased metabolism helps your body burn more calories throughout the day. Resistant starch may help reduce fat storage in the body by increasing fat oxidation. Plus, a study published in the Microbiome Journal suggests that resistant starch can improve insulin sensitivity, allowing the body to use glucose more efficiently. This can help regulate blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of developing insulin resistance.

Now that you know the benefits of banana for weight loss, it is time to include more of it in your diet!
