Zendaya and Tom Holland have maintained a discreet relationship, keeping their romance largely hidden since its inception. Tammy Townsend, Zendaya's former co-star from K.C. Undercover, noted that the couple was careful to remain private during the time she was filming the Disney Channel series while Holland was featured in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.

Reflecting on the early stages of Holland and Zendaya's relationship, Townsend shared with People Magazine, “I knew it was serious. Tom would just come through and see what we were doing.” The actress, who portrayed Zendaya’s mother on the show, indicated that the cast was aware of the strong bond developing between the two.

Townsend praised Holland, describing him as “a really cool kid.” Additionally, Trinitee Stokes, who played Zendaya’s sister, expressed her admiration for Holland, recalling her time spent with him on set while he was “just hanging around.”

The 18-year-old remarked, “He’s so funny. I love Tom, and I honestly have been so happy to watch this progression in their relationship because he’s such a great guy.” She further noted that it has been an “exciting journey” to witness their evolution from the early days of their romance to their engagement.

Holland was ‘always crazy’ about Zendaya

At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zendaya became the centre of attention when her dazzling ring led fans to speculate about her engagement to Holland. The following morning, a family insider confirmed the engagement to People, while another source remarked that “everyone close to them was aware” it was forthcoming. The exquisite piece of jewellery generated considerable excitement during the awards ceremony.

A second insider conveyed to the media outlet, “He has always been infatuated with her. He always recognized that she was the one. Their bond is truly exceptional. Tom has consistently found endearing ways to express to the world that Zendaya belongs to him. Now, it is official — she truly is!”
