Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi were immensely popular figures in the Hindi film industry during the mid-1970s and 1980s. Throughout this period, both actresses became renowned for their fashionable appearances on screen. Recently, Zeenat participated in a Reddit AMA, where a fan inquired whether she had ever been mistaken for Parveen Babi in public. Zeenat confirmed this occurrence and recounted an 'awkward' experience involving a particular fan.

Regarding her thoughts on Parveen, a Reddit user posed the question, “Hello Zeenat Ji. As a child, I often confused you with Parveen Babi. Did fans ever mistake you for her in public?”

In her reply, Zeenat remarked, “That was a frequent misunderstanding. Parveen was incredibly beautiful, so I didn’t mind at all! There was one particularly uncomfortable incident in Dubai when a woman was overly enthusiastic about me, believing I was Parveen, even though this was after her passing. It was quite distressing, and I had to inform that disappointed fan that her beloved actress was no longer with us.”

Parveen Babi was regarded as the primary rival of Zeenat Aman during their era, as both actresses emerged from a modeling background. They collaborated with renowned actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, and Shatrughan Sinha. Notably, Parveen became the first Indian woman to grace the cover of TIME Magazine. Her final appearance in a Bollywood film was in Iraada (1991), which featured Shatrughan Sinha and Moon Moon Sen.

Parveen Babi faced significant health challenges, including a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, diabetes, and osteoarthritis of the knee. She passed away from multiple organ failure at the age of 50, with her body being discovered three days posthumously.

In contrast, Zeenat Aman is set to appear in Netflix's The Royals, alongside Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar. Additionally, she has a role in Bun Tikki, where she will share the screen with Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol.
