Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain has been hospitalised in a hospital in the US and is being treated for 'serious' health ailments. The update about his health was posted on social media.

A report from PTI indicates that Zakir has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He was hospitalized due to heart-related issues, as confirmed by his friend and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia on Sunday.

A source close to Zakir revealed that the 73-year-old musician, who resides in the United States, has been experiencing problems with his blood pressure.

"He has been in a San Francisco hospital for a heart-related issue for the past week. He is currently unwell and in the ICU. We are all quite concerned about his condition," Chaurasia informed PTI.

Earlier today, it was reported that he is receiving treatment for serious health concerns at a hospital in San Francisco. His family is currently requesting prayers and blessings from everyone for his swift recovery. No further information regarding his health status has been disclosed at this time.
