Raveena Tandon, who was the latest guest on Aapka Apna Zakir, confirmed that she was initially going to make her Bollywood debut opposite Sanjay Dutt. She, however, chose to debut opposite Salman Khan because of her friends. The actress revealed the whole story of how her debut with Sanjay Dutt fell apart, and she eventually chose to enter Bollywood with Salman Khan as her co-star. PS: It has Maine Pyar Kiya connection.

Raveena Tandon saw Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya and wanted to work with him

Raveena Tandon was in college when Maine Pyar Kiya released. Her friends had asked her to work in the movie because they wanted to meet Salman Khan and see what he's like on sets.

Raveena's friends pleaded with her and even asked her to leave the industry if she desires, after working in Patthar Ke Phool. Of course, that did not happen, and Raveena continues working in Bollywood as one of the iconic actresses.

Raveena Tandon's connection to Bollywood before becoming an actress

Raveena Tandon's father, Ravi Tandon, was a popular name in Bollywood at the time. She had assisted him while in class 8. Raveena had just completed class 10 when she started filming for Patthar Ke Phool.

Although an actress today, Raveena once dreamed of becoming a pilot or an IAS officer. She was inspired by Kiran Bedi's story and hoped to be even remotely like her. Of course, destiny had other plans, and so, she became an actress.

Patthar Ke Phool happened instantly because of her father

Raveena spilled that she was at a restaurant, where the director Anant Balani and co-producer Vivek Vaswani were also seated. They came to her and asked for her name and father's number. Interestingly, Vivek also became friends with Raveena's brother Rajiv Tandon. On realizing that Raveena was Ravi Tandon's daughter, she was cast in Patthar Ke Phool.
