Bollywood actress Yami Gautam and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, welcomed their first child in 2024. They celebrated the arrival of their son, Vedavid, on May 10 of the previous year. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Yami discussed her reasons for wanting to shield her son from media attention. It is noteworthy that she rarely shares images of her child on social media.

Yami Gautam emphasizes the importance of shielding son Vedavid from media scrutiny. She expressed to the tabloid that safeguarding her son's childhood is her top priority, and both she and Aditya are fully dedicated to this cause.

"As actors, we allow the media certain freedoms, but that does not extend to our children. The media has the right to express their opinions about films and even personal matters concerning actors. We recognize that it is part of their profession. However, a parent’s instinct to protect is paramount," she stated. Yami further asserted her commitment to fiercely protect her child, believing it is her right to do so.

"I would be delighted for you to meet him and offer your blessings. However, it is a Pandora’s box. Once opened, there is no turning back. Additionally, it can have a significant psychological effect on a child," the star of Dhoom Dhaam explained.

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar welcomed their son on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya last year. They shared their joy with fans through a heartfelt message on Dhar's official Instagram account.

"As we embark on this beautiful journey of parenthood, we look forward to the bright future that lies ahead for our son. With each milestone he reaches, we are filled with hope and confidence that he will become a source of pride for our family and our beloved nation," part of the message conveyed.

On the professional front, Yami is anticipating the release of her Netflix film, Dhoom Dhaam, in which she stars alongside Pratik Gandhi.
