Recently, her co-star from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Rajesh Kumar, has responded to her remarks, emphasizing that it is important to understand the scientific basis that underlies these traditions.

What Rajesh Kumar said about Ratna Pathak Shah

In response to Ratna's comments regarding Karva Chauth, Rajesh expressed in an interview with Hindi Rush, “She is an educated and progressive individual, and women of her calibre frequently hold their views and challenge traditional customs and culture. However, I believe the solution is straightforward. If we integrated festivals such as Karva Chauth, Ramzan, and Eid, along with the cycles of the sun and moon, into our educational curriculum, many of these inquiries would cease to exist.”

'Opinions are formed only when you don’t have specific knowledge'

He further stated, "These issues have been ongoing for quite some time. While we may be unaware of them, that does not justify their wrongness; thus, a shift in perspective is necessary. Acknowledging your lack of knowledge opens the door to learning new information. Conversely, claiming to know everything leads to stagnation. Opinions arise only when one lacks detailed understanding of a topic."

Rajesh portrayed the character of Rosesh Sarabhai, the younger son of Maya (Ratna), in the acclaimed series Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.
