The fate of Bangla television serials largely depends on the weekly TRP list. When a serial fails to perform well, the show is pulled down. Now the upcoming Zee Bangla serial Ashtami may decide the fate of some of the existing serials.

The serial Mili will be ending within six months of starting its journey. This is to make space for the Ashtami, starring Saptarshi and Ritabrita. Mili started at the end of September. The cast and crew already got the last day shooting schedule from the channel and the production house. The shooting will wrap up at the end of this week and the serial will have its last episode telecast on April 5.

People were amazed watching the first promo of Mili. But the serial failed to keep up to the expectations. People thought that the hero Arjun, played by Anubhab Kanjilal, will have some negative shades, but nothing like that happened.

Despite the chemistry between Kheyali and Anubhab and the amazing acting, the serial failed to leave a mark on the TRP list. After two months, Mili was taken from its original 9 pm slot and sent to the 10 PM slot. But it is constantly beaten by the opponent Haragouri Pice Hotel. The TRP report card did not improve in the next four months and hence the channel decided to finish the serial.

Ashtami is coming at the 6.30 pm slot, starting on April 7. It is now held by Kar Kache Koi Moner Kotha. But it is also getting beaten by Geeta LLB and hence it has to give away the slot. Kar Kache Koi Moner Kotha is going to the 10 pm slot in the second week of April.

People are not pleased with Kar Kache Koi…. Simul’s attitude towards Satadru, even after divorcing Parag, seems not agreeable to the audience. They are criticizing Simul's double standard. Already the IPL season has started. Hence the serials after 7.30 pm will face a tough challenge. Manali and the entire team of Kar Kache Koi Moner Kotha will therefore have to fight hard.
