In a creative promotional video for Patna Shuklla, which is slated for March 29, Rupali Ganguly swapped her Anupama character with Anuj to highlight the unfair identity theft. 

Rupali Ganguly changes her character from Anupama to Anuj

TV actress Rupali Ganguly changed her character from Anupama to Anuj. The star also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fans for showering immense love on the character. In a video message shared by the streamer Disney+Hotstar, Rupali traded her character for the male lead, Anuj, and shared with a husky voice that she is grateful for the love and appreciation. She later credited the reason to identity theft and education scams where someone else’s identity is given to another and cited Disney+Hotstar’s new movie Patna Shuklla, which stars Raveena Tandon in the lead role.

Sharing the message in Hindi, Rupali shared, “Logo ne muje Anuj ke role mei itna pyar diya. Mere performance ko itna saraha. Thanks guys. Aapko ajeeb laga na mene khud ko Anupama nahi, Anuj ke naam se bulaya? Kisi aur actor ka credit liya" (People have given me immense love for the role of Anuj. They have appreciated my performance. Thanks guys. You felt weird that I called myself Anuj instead of my name, Anupama. I took some other actor’s credit.

In the promotional video for Patna Shuklla, which will drop on March 29, Rupali further added, “Ye mene isliye kiya kyuki hamare desh mei na jane kitne bachcho ke saath aesa hi hota hai aur unki takleef aap tak pahuchana zaroori hai. Unki kahaani ke baare mein jaanne ke liye dekhiye Disney+Hotstar ki nayi movie Patna Shuklla (I did this because in India, so many students face the same issue, and their suffering is important to reach you.
