I accepted the opportunity in Mani Ratnam's film just to make ends meet.
I never dreamed of entering the film industry and becoming an actor. I gave Rs. 25 thousand to my mother.. 'The loan is over. Suriya said, "Don't worry anymore.. I started my career for that.. Now I have got so many fans as Suriya." Suriya entered the industry with the Tamil movie 'O Nerrukku Ner' released in 1997. The movie was directed by Vasanth and produced by Mani Ratnam. In this, Vijay acted as the hero and Suriya appeared in a pivotal role. After this film, Suriya got a series of opportunities and became a star.
