Among these, his association with actress Sangeeta Bijlani attracted considerable media coverage. Recently, Sangeeta has chosen to address the speculation surrounding their purportedly annulled wedding.

Sangeeta speaks up

Sangeeta is set to appear as a special guest in an upcoming episode of Indian Idol 15. A new promotional video for the show has been shared on social media, featuring her discussing her connection with Salman Khan.

In the video, a contestant inquires about the rumours regarding the printing of wedding invitations for Sangeeta and Salman prior to the cancellation of their ceremony. Contestant Manasi Ghosh directly asks Sangeeta to verify this rumour.

Judge Vishal Dadlani appears taken aback by the inquiry and encourages Sangeeta to disclose more about the situation. In response, she states, “Jhoot toh nahi tha (It wasn't a lie)."

This revelation astonishes everyone present, including judges Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani, and the clip concludes at that moment. Although Vishal pressed her for further information, Sangeeta chose not to provide additional details.

About the couple

Salman and Sangeeta were in a romantic relationship years ago before they eventually separated. Their initial encounter occurred on the set of a television advertisement during their early days in the Bollywood industry. The two developed a deep affection for one another and maintained their relationship for nearly a decade, marking it as one of Salman's most enduring partnerships. They had even contemplated marriage but ultimately decided against it. Subsequently, Sangeeta married Mohammad Azharuddin in 1996, and their divorce was finalized in 2019. Despite their past, she continues to maintain a friendly relationship with Salman Khan and frequently attends events and gatherings he hosts.

Recently, Sangeeta shared her thoughts on her relationship with Salman. In an interview with a prominent daily, she remarked, “Connections don’t break,” when asked about how she has managed to stay in touch with him over the years. She further elaborated, “Connections never go away. The love between partners and school friends endures. People may come and go, and no one remains permanent in life. However, that does not imply one should harbour bitterness or anger. At a certain stage in my life, I was immature and foolish, but I have matured since then. Life is replete with experiences.”
