During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi commended Diljit Dosanjh for his accomplishments, stating, “It is truly remarkable when a young man from a small village in India excels on the international stage. Your family chose the name Diljit for you, and you continue to win the hearts of many, just as your name implies.” In response, Diljit remarked, “We often read that 'Mera Bharat Mahan' (My India is great), but it was only when I travelled throughout India that I understood why this sentiment is so prevalent.” Prime Minister Modi emphasized the strength found in India's diversity, asserting, "The vastness of India is its greatest asset. We are a dynamic society."

Diljit further expressed, "The most profound aspect of India is yoga." Prime Minister Modi concurred, stating, "Those who have practised yoga are aware of its transformative power."

The singer-actor also expressed admiration for Prime Minister Modi's personal journey, saying, "I have seen your interview, sir. The role of the Prime Minister is significant, yet behind that title lies a mother, a son, and a human being. Often, this deeper truth is far more impactful when you carry your mother and the sacred Ganga with you. It resonates deeply."

Diljit then performed a song dedicated to Guru Nanak, while Prime Minister Modi listened attentively, rhythmically tapping on the nearby table like a dholak, synchronizing his beats with those of Diljit.

After the meeting, Diljit Dosanjh expressed his gratitude, calling it a "fantastic" way to start the year. He posted on X, “A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with PM @narendramodi Ji. We talked about many things, including music, of course!”

PM Modi responded to Dosanjh's post, describing their meeting as "a great interaction." He said, “A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He's truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connected over music, culture, and more.”

Diljit has recently wrapped up his Dil-Luminati tour in India, culminating in a spectacular performance in Ludhiana. During his concerts at multiple locations, the artist sought to highlight significant social issues through his performances.
