Actor Arjun Kapoor is currently engaged in the promotion of his upcoming film, Mere Husband Ki Biwi. During a recent event, he was accompanied by co-stars Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh as they interacted with their fans. At one point, an individual shouted Malaika's name in front of Arjun and the rest of the cast, leaving him momentarily at a loss for words. Malaika Arora, who is Arjun's former girlfriend, was in a relationship with him for several years before their breakup last year.

Details of the event

A video that surfaced on Instagram shows Arjun on stage at what appears to be a fan interaction event, where his co-stars Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh were responding to audience inquiries. When a fan posed a question to Bhumi regarding her affection for the film, an audience member abruptly shouted ‘Malaika’ loudly, interrupting the moment.

This incident captured the attention of all present, including Arjun. The actor gazed directly at the audience, shaking his head with a knowing look. He refrained from making any verbal comments. Rakul and Bhumi also glanced at him momentarily but chose not to contribute any remarks.

Arjun confirms breakup  

A similar occurrence took place during the Diwali celebration hosted by politician Raj Thackeray last year. When an individual in the crowd repeatedly called out Malaika Arora's name, Arjun responded, “Nahi abhi single hoon. Relax karo (No, I'm single now. Relax).”

Arjun and Malaika began their relationship in 2018. Although they rarely discussed their romance publicly, they frequently shared affectionate photographs from their vacations and exchanged birthday wishes. Following the passing of Malaika's father, Anil Mehta, last month, Arjun made a visit to support her.

Malaika was formerly married to actor Arbaaz Khan, with whom she shares custody of their son, Arhaan, since their divorce in 2017.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film Mere Husband Ki Biwi features Dino Morea, Harsh Gujral, and Shakti Kapoor in supporting roles. It is presented by Vashu Bhagnani & Puja Films, and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh, with a scheduled release date in cinemas on February 21, 2025.
