The captivating chemistry displayed by Bipasha Basu and John Abraham in the song "Billo Rani" from the film "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal" continues to evoke strong emotions. However, it was unbeknownst to many that their personal relationship was fraught with tension during the filming. 

Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri recently disclosed that the song was filmed during a period of significant strain between the couple, who were then estranged. He was at the helm of the film's direction.

Vivek took to X, previously known as Twitter, to reveal that the chemistry portrayed between the couple was a meticulously constructed facade, as they had separated just days prior to the filming.

In a repost of a clip from the song, Vivek stated, “This song has an interesting backstory. The producers were initially opposed to it. Javed Saab expressed reservations about the hook ‘Billo Rani’, and Pritam was uncertain about the qawwali style. Additionally, John and Bipasha had ended their relationship only a few days before the shoot, leading to numerous complications.”

He further remarked, “However, only the late Saroj Khan had faith in my vision. She confidently asserted that this would become a major hit, and indeed it did. A heartfelt salute to Pritam, Javed Saab, and Saroj Ji.”

The song from the 2011 film, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, is also picturised on Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. The song is sung by Anand Raaj Anand, and Richa Sharma, and the music is composed by Pritam. The lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.

Bipasha and John's romantic relationship lasted for nine years, beginning when they co-starred in the 2003 film Jism.

After nearly a decade together, Bipasha and John chose to end their relationship. While the specific details and timing of their separation remain private, it is generally reported that they parted ways in 2011.

In an interview with the Times of India, Bipasha described the break-up as "definitely not amicable." Conversely, John stated in an interview that the separation was "very amicable and there was nothing ugly about it."

Currently, Bipasha is married to Karan Singh Grover, with whom she has a daughter named Devi. John Abraham is now married to Priya Runchal.
