Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia have recently become the center of controversy due to a comment made by the podcaster regarding parents and sex on the show India's Got Latent, which was met with disapproval from certain individuals. In response to the ensuing backlash, Samay took the step of removing all episodes from YouTube. In light of these events, singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani, who has been a guest on Samay's program, has characterized the public outrage as "nonsense and hypocritical."

What Vishal Dadlani said

In response to Ranveer's provocative inquiry, "Would you prefer to witness your parents engage in sexual activity daily for the remainder of your life or participate once and end it permanently?" Vishal posted a photograph of himself from India's Got Latent. He dismissed the surrounding controversy as "nonsense" and remarked, "Would you allow #SamayRaina to touch your hairy arms every day, or would you choose to join in once to put an end to the utterly hypocritical and prudish nonsense currently prevailing?"

His reaction

Vishal posits that the ongoing controversy could represent an effort by authorities to impose regulations on online content, suggesting that the public is inadvertently relinquishing its freedoms. He remarked, "The government has sought to exert control over online content for an extended period, facing numerous obstacles. Currently, amidst this surge of outrage fueled by television, individuals are surrendering their own liberties. Furthermore, one must consider… 'what about the Kumbh stampede fatalities?' Do you comprehend?"

India's Got Latent controversy

Ranveer encountered significant criticism on social media due to his comments regarding India's Got Latent. Users on various platforms, along with several politicians and Bollywood figures, condemned the podcaster for his "inappropriate" remarks. Despite issuing an apology, multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) have been lodged against him, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and the event's organizers.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court of India has expressed disapproval of Ranveer's statements made on Samay's program, mandating that he submit his passport to restrict his international travel without prior authorization. Meanwhile, Samay is currently overseas for an international tour and has sought an extension from the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and other relevant authorities to comply with their requests.
