Since returning to India after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Virat Kohli has been making frequent trips to Alibaug to visit his luxurious holiday home. He was first spotted taking a jetty ride from the Gateway of India with his wife, Anushka Sharma. The couple recently hosted a griha pravesh ceremony for their new Alibaug residence.

Virat and Anushka have crafted a home that perfectly reflects their love for peace and relaxation. In a video shared by Virat, the former India captain offered a glimpse of the newly constructed house in Alibaug, a serene coastal town south of Mumbai.

Interestingly, the house’s living room lacks a television or other entertainment devices, a deliberate choice to create a space that fosters meaningful conversations.

“For me, the most important aspect of a holiday home is the feeling it gives you upon entering. It should make you feel completely relaxed, centred, and peaceful—like a home away from home,” said Virat Kohli.

According to Architectural Digest, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s Alibaug home was designed by the globally renowned Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA), led by Phillippe Fouche. The villa has been thoughtfully constructed to maximize the inflow of natural light.

In an interview with Architectural Digest, Kohli shared, “I really value and cherish having meals together as a family. To be honest, I didn’t do enough of that as a kid myself.” He further added, “When life is so hectic and you’re constantly surrounded by activity, you long for an escape, and Alibaug gives us that.”

Built on a sprawling 10,000-square-foot plot, the four-bedroom villa embodies “raw luxury” with its Californian Konkan-inspired design. The estimated cost of this lavish property is approximately ₹32 crore.

'Love family having dinner together'

During a tour of his home, Virat Kohli shared that he values family meals together, something he didn’t experience enough as a child.

“I really value and cherish having meals together as a family because, to be honest, I didn’t do enough of that as a kid myself,” Kohli explained.

“What I couldn’t do enough of, we make sure to never miss out on it, and it's now a practice in our household,” he added. The cricketer also mentioned using the 'Avas' app to access all the necessary information about his home.

Virat then revealed that the outdoors is his favourite part of the house. “This is where I like to sit down, have a cup of coffee, and relax. Even on holiday, I stick to a fixed diet,” Kohli shared.
