As the star of the Fast & Furious franchise made his way to the stage, he greeted Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who was seated nearby. The two have collaborated on the Fast & Furious series, and typically, this would have been a lighthearted exchange between co-stars. However, those familiar with their careers are aware of the prolonged public feud between them, making the interaction surprising for fans of both actors.

Vin Diesel acknowledged Dwayne by saying, "Hey, Dwayne," while nodding in his direction. Dwayne Johnson responded with a shy smile in recognition. This seemingly awkward encounter was sufficient to trigger a wave of reactions from fans online. One user on X (formerly Twitter) expressed confusion, asking, "What's going on?" Another remarked, "Did this just really happen?"

Certain fans have theorized that this gesture from Vin may serve as an olive branch to Dwayne, as he seeks to reintegrate him into the franchise. A tweet stated, "Vin desires Dwayne's return for another Fast and Furious film; he recently shared a post about it on his Instagram, indicating his efforts to reconcile and foster goodwill."

The rivalry between Vin and Dwayne in the Fast & Furious franchise

Vin Diesel has been the leading figure in nearly every instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise since its inception in 2001, with the exception of one film. Dwayne Johnson made his debut in the series Fast Five in 2011 and subsequently appeared in Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and The Fate of the Furious. He later starred in the spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw alongside Jason Statham. Throughout the years, both Dwayne and Vin have engaged in public disputes, often calling each other out in interviews and on social media regarding their respective prominence within the franchise. In a surprising turn, Dwayne made a post-credits cameo in the latest instalment, Fast X, released in 2023. He has since confirmed his return for the upcoming film in the series.
