Vikrant Massey on son Vardaan receiving threats
Amid the retirement news, Vikrant Massey's earlier comment about his son Vardaan's safety went viral. In an earlier interview with Dainik Bhaskar on its YouTube channel, Vikrant revealed that he was receiving threats on social media and through WhatsApp, which even targeted his infant son.
He said, “Mujhe mere social media, WhatsApp pe threat aa rahe hain. Yeh log jaante hain ki main 9 mahine pehle ek bacche ka pita bana hoon. Mera baccha jo theek se chal bhi nahi pata, uska naam beech mein liya ja raha hai. Uski suraksha ke liye mujhe chinta mein daala ja raha hai. Hum kis samaj mein jee rahe hain? Afsos hota hai, dar nahi lagta. Agar dar lagta, toh hum yeh film banake bahar laate hi nahi."
(I’ve been receiving threats on social media and WhatsApp. These people know I became a father 9 months ago. They’re dragging my infant son into this. I’m worried for his safety. What kind of society are we living in? It’s disheartening, though not scary. If I were scared, we wouldn’t have made this film and brought it to the public.)
Vikrant Massey's retirement post
On December 2, Vikrant Massey took to his Instagram account and shared a long post announcing his temporary break from acting.
In the post, he said that the last few years and beyond have been phenomenal and he thanked each and every one for their indelible support. However, he added, "But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor."
"So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted," concluded the post.
Reacting to the post, fans urged their favorite actor to take a 'small break' but not retirement. One fan shared, "Suddenly? Is everything alright? That's so surprising for the fans. We really like your acting and movies. We already lost a gem and talented actor like SSR. We don't want to lose you! Take a break from movies but Bollywood needs talented actors like you!! Come back soon and take care of your family and your 'mental health'."
Another commented, "I hope it’s not true." A third fan shared, "Best wishes, come back stronger."
Meanwhile, Vikrant was recently seen in The Sabarmati Report. The film is successfully running in theaters. The movie has received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
