Actor Vikrant Massey has discussed his film "12th Fail," expressing his desire for validation from the film industry, as well as reflecting on the nature of success and failure in life. In an interview with the Indian Express, Vikrant articulated his "urge to be recognized by a broader audience and not merely categorized as an alternate actor." He also noted the transformations he has observed in individuals during times of success and failure.
Vikrant's Insights on "12th Fail"
Regarding "12th Fail," Vikrant remarked, “I have received validation from the industry, which I had been yearning for. I have always believed in myself and will continue to do so, but it was crucial for me to feel acknowledged by a wider audience rather than being seen solely as an alternate actor. The commercial success of '12th Fail' was significant for me. I am now receiving numerous offers, and many producers are eager to collaborate with me. This was my aspiration. While I am pleased, I am also aware that such recognition is fleeting, and people evolve.”
Vikrant on Navigating Success and Failure
“My approach to handling success and failure remains consistent. I do not take either too seriously. Life is inherently transient. I have witnessed how people can change dramatically with the tides of success and failure. I tend to move on swiftly and do not dwell on either for an extended period. Circumstances can shift just as rapidly, and one can find themselves back at the starting point in an instant,” he elaborated.
The 2023 biographical drama is directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and is inspired by the 2019 non-fiction work by Anurag Pathak, which tells the story of Manoj Kumar Sharma. The film features a cast that includes Medha Shankr, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
