Actor Vijay, who is poised to enter the political arena, utilized his social media platforms to honor Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, a key figure in the formation of the Indian Constitution, on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. He shared images and videos from his visit to an Ambedkar statue located in Palavakkam, Chennai, emphasizing the significance of social justice and equality for all individuals.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Vijay is seen adorning the Ambedkar statue with a garland and fresh flowers as a mark of respect. He stated, “On the 135th birth anniversary of our Tamil Nadu Victory Party's principal leader, Dr. Ambedkar, I honored his legacy by garlanding his statue in Palavakkam, Chennai.”

Highlighting the necessity of equality, he further remarked, “On this special day, let us pay homage to Ambedkar, who devoted his life to the welfare of the people, stressing that legal rights must be accompanied by social justice, equality, and brotherhood for all. Let us commit to eradicating inequalities in our society and ensuring lasting equality.”

Vijay's most recent appearance was in Venkat Prabhu’s 2024 film, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), where he portrayed both a father and son. He is currently filming H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan, which is expected to be his final cinematic endeavor. The film features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and is rumored to be a remake of Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari.

Vijay is preparing to transition into politics, having announced the formation of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party in February 2024, followed by his inaugural political meeting in October of the same year. He aims to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections, and given the state's history of actors successfully entering politics, it will be interesting to observe his journey.
