Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay was seen at Coimbatore airport on Sunday evening. A moment caught on camera as security personnel and fans surrounded him led many to speculate if someone struck him as he entered. His supporters, however, shared clearer videos recorded at the airport, explaining that he ‘just slipped’.

Vijay’s supporters dispel rumors of his assault

Thanthi TV released a video of Vijay, asserting, “A mysterious individual struck Vijay on the head and caused a stir at the airport. ” In the footage, the actor appears to be walking into the airport when he reacts to something before regaining his balance and proceeding inside. He smiles as numerous fans shout his name, nodding in recognition before continuing in.

Nonetheless, his fans also shared videos of the incident, captured from various angles, stating he ‘just slipped’ while entering. “. @ThanthiTV is disseminating false information, misrepresenting the leader's stumble as an assault by an enigmatic person. . . ! ! We strongly denounce such fake news,” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter).

Another wrote, “Here’s a clearer video. It’s disappointing to see baseless rumors about Thalapathy Vijay’s safety being spread. No one attacked him and it was just a slip. Dear @ThanthiTV, kindly refrain from spreading misinformation and stick to the facts.”

A supporter criticized the channel for ‘disseminating false information’, stating, “It’s disgraceful that unfounded rumors are being shared regarding Thalapathy Vijay’s safety. There was no assault—his leg just slipped. @ThanthiTV, please cease spreading misinformation and report the facts accurately! ”

Upcoming work

Vijay will soon feature in H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan, his last film. Also featuring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju, it is scheduled for release during Pongal 2026. Vijay reaffirmed that this will be his final project at a TVK gathering in February. He mentioned that he has no desire to create films anymore and wishes to concentrate on politics, dedicating himself to the well-being of the people instead.
