Vijay Deverakonda on Kashmir
Vijay emphasized his belief that education is crucial against brainwashing to combat terror. He stated in Telugu and English, “The answer to what is happening in Kashmir is also to educate them (terrorists) and prevent them from being brainwashed. What do they hope to attain? Kashmir is a part of India, and Kashmiris are our people. Two years ago, I filmed Kushi in Kashmir. I have such wonderful memories with them (the locals). ”
He then criticized Pakistan, asserting that the country’s citizens are discontent due to insufficient resources, “Pakistan can’t even take care of their own people, who lack proper electricity and water. What do they intend to achieve here? India doesn’t even need to strike Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are weary of their government and may revolt against them if this situation persists. Their fighting resembles what tribes did 500 years ago. We must stand united as a community and love one another. We should always progress as individuals and remain united. Education is extremely important. Let’s all be joyful and keep our parents happy; only then can we advance. ”
While some individuals online supported Vijay’s remarks and commended his ‘guts’ for addressing this publicly, others criticized him for discussing politics at a film event.

Vijay was last featured in the 2024 film The Family Star alongside Mrunal Thakur. He also made a cameo as Arjuna in the Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD.
