Actor Vicky Kaushal and renowned singer Asha Bhonsle recently met during the Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din celebrations organized by the Maharashtra government on Thursday. Vicky shared a video of his speech on Instagram, capturing Asha's reaction to his humorous ‘tauba tauba’ remark.

Vicky attended the event in Mumbai, where he had the honor of sharing the stage with Asha. He expressed his appreciation to the state government for the invitation. However, the highlight of the occasion was Asha's response when Vicky made a lighthearted joke.

During the event, Vicky humorously recounted how Asha appeared apprehensive about him reciting poetry, stating, “Asha ma’am was seated there. She looked at me with a hint of fear and asked if I would also read poetry. I replied affirmatively.” 

He further jested that when he informed her that his poetry would be in Marathi, her reaction was a playful ‘tauba tauba’. “Asha ma’am said tauba tauba,” he remarked with a smile. The camera then focused on Asha, who was smiling broadly while taking Vicky’s nazar.

In December of the previous year, Vicky referred to Asha as an 'absolute legend' following her performance of his popular song "Tauba Tauba" from the film Bad Newz.

Vicky is currently enjoying the success of the historical action film Chhaava, which features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film has surpassed the ₹555 crore gross mark globally since its release on February 14. Based on the Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant, Chhaava depicts the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. The film is set to be released in Telugu on March 7.
