The announcement that Akshay Kumar will star in Ajay Devgn's next directorial effort sent shockwaves around the internet over the weekend. This would mark the seventh collaboration between the two stars, following Suhaag (1994), Khakee (2004), Insan (2005), Simmba (2018), Sooryavanshi (2021), and Singham Again. It appears that plans are currently underway to include more A-list actors in the project. Devgn is eager to have Vicky Kaushal play the role of the parallel lead, and the latest reports have gathered that the film is an action comedy starring two heroes.

Vicky Kaushal considered as parallel lead

As per MidDay, Kaushal has left a lasting impression on Devgn, and the latter admires his commitment to his career. Devgn thought it would be intriguing to pair Kumar and Vicky Kaushal since the two main roles complement each other, according to the source. At the same time, the insider states that Kumar was thrilled with the plot because it gave him the chance to showcase his talents in both action and comedy.

Having said that, the first draft is currently ready, so things are still in their early stages. By next year's September or October, the project should be up and running thanks to Devgn's meticulous planning. Indeed, up to that point, Kumar and his dates are off-limits.

The insider went on to say that Devgn is now shooting for Son of Sardaar 2, after which he has De De Pyaar De 2, Rangers, and Indra Kumar's Dhamaal 4.

Ajay Devgn's tease at HTLS event

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn made an announcement at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit (HTLS) over the weekend, stating that he believes this is a fantastic platform, but they plan to disclose this later. Already, they have a project in the works where Akshay stars and Devgn serves as director. They will discuss it later; it is still a bit premature.
