Venky Atluri: I'm thrilled with Lucky Baskhar's unanimous reception

'Lucky Baskhar' starring Multi-lingual star actor Dulquer Salmaan, Meenakshi Chaudhary, written and directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, Sai Soujanya of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, respectively, released on 31st October worldwide. Movie became a huge blockbuster and received unanimous positive feedback from all corners.

Celebrating the success, the director of the film, Venky Atluri interacted with press and here are the excerpts. 

Venky Atluri talking to press stated that his previous films did receive at least one to two percent of negative feedback but Lucky Baskhar did not receive even one negative review. He expressed happiness for receiving positive word of mouth from audiences even from Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. He stated that he saw the movie in Cochin and after some tense moments, when people started enjoying the film, he felt really happy and breathed a sigh of relief. 

On Dulquer Salmaan's performance

Venky Atluri stated that Dulquer is the first hero to immediately accept the movie upon first narration. He stated that DQ started discussing about dates, sets and production after the first half narration. He also stated that on the sets, Dulquer is a great motivator and he found it inspiring to work even better every day.

On the famous Dialogues

Venky revealed that he did not plan the dialogues that went popular. He revealed that several lines like "Oka Roju naa jeevitham lo naaku nacchinattu jargaledu( One day in my life did not go as I planned, should I go into depression for that)" has been written on sets as a filler in the scene. Such a line going popular as made him happy and thrilled him to bits. He also revealed that he is a 90's kid and hence, he knew the value of getting some thing that we wish for after negotiating with parents for hours and days together. So, he wrote scenes keeping those experiences in mind. He also observed that the today's generation is not going through such negotiations as they're getting everything they ever wished for by hook or crook, immediately. 

On Production Values and producer's belief

Producer Naga Vamsi challenged that if anyone would find a mistake, then he would give them a special party. Talking about such belief on the film, Venky Atluri stated that the producer has been supportive from the word go. He stated that while he wanted to make a film in limited budget in live locations, Vamsi pushed him to go for a bigger sets and huge production values. He revealed that the sets and recreation of Bombay cost them multiple folds more than they anticipated but producer never asked him to stop or plan again. Rather it is producer who pushed him to go even big. 

On double the work and casting veteran acto

Venky Atluri stated that he had to shoot twice a scene as it plays from different perspectives as per the narrator's revelation at that moment. He stated that due to that the work has doubled and hence, they went 20 days over planned time in shooting. Later, he revealed about his choices to cast Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Sai Kumar, Tinnu Anand kind of actors in prominent roles, as he wanted a recall value in important scenes. He praised kid actor Rithvik for his performance and discipline. Further, he also praised editor Navin Nooli for his editing skills. 

On his next projects

Venky Atluri revealed that he did not lock anything but he will work with Sithara Entertainments again.
