Veer Pahariya Responds After Comedian Pranit More Claims Assault Over Jokes

Actor Veer Pahariya has responded after comedian Pranit More claimed he was attacked by a group for making a joke about him. Pranit shared on Instagram that about 12 guys confronted him after his performance in Solapur and assaulted him.

Something went down

Pranit shared the whole story on his Instagram on Tuesday night. He wrote, "Tanveer Shaikh was the mastermind behind this attack, and his crew was pretty upfront about their motives—they wanted to shut me up for cracking jokes about Bollywood newcomer Veer Pahariya. One of them even said, 'Next time, try making a joke about Veer Pahariya, and you'll see what happens!'—a pretty obvious threat that things could get a lot worse if I joked about him again."

The statement continued, "If a comedian can get attacked just for telling a joke, what does that mean for our fundamental rights and safety? As artists from Maharashtra, we never thought he would encounter such violence in his own state just for doing his work. We're sharing this because it's important for people to understand the truth. Maharashtra is his home, and we can't accept that we've come to a place where violence and oppression have taken the place of conversation and laughter."

Veer's comment

Veer hopped on his Instagram Stories to share his thoughts: “I’m honestly shocked and heartbroken about what happened to Comedian Pranit More. I want to be clear—I had nothing to do with this, and I completely condemn any kind of violence. I’ve always handled trolling with a sense of humor, laughed it off, and even shown love to my critics. There’s no way I would ever promote or support harm against anyone, especially not someone from the same creative community.”

He went ahead and apologized, saying, “To Pranit and his fans—I’m really sorry this happened. Nobody deserves this. I’ll make sure that whoever is responsible faces the consequences. Again, my deepest apologies.”

Veer made his entry into Bollywood with Sky Force, which hit theaters on January 24. This patriotic action-drama draws inspiration from real-life events. Veer plays Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, a recipient of the Mahavir Chakra.

Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force tells the story of India’s counterattack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. The film is produced by Maddock Films and features a cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, and Sara Ali Khan alongside Veer.
