Vedhika, renowned for her performances in various South Indian film industries—Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam—made her debut in the OTT realm with the 2024 web series Yakshini. Critics unanimously praised her portrayal of a celestial being, noting her ethereal presence and her ability to embody the essence of a Yakshini flawlessly.

In acknowledgement of her role in the Telugu fantasy drama Yakshini, Vedhika was honoured with the Best Debut in an OTT Series award at the OTTplay Awards 2025, held on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The six-part series, produced by Shobu Yarlagdda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Media Works—famous for the production of Baahubali—is available for streaming on JioHotstar.

Receiving her award from Nyraa Banerjee, Vedhika expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am truly honoured to receive this recognition. It takes immense luck and blessings to portray such a character. I extend my thanks to my team. It is a privilege to be part of this remarkable show. I appreciate the audience for making Yakshini a tremendous success and for their affection towards Maya. I have always aspired to emulate Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi ma'am. I feel fortunate to receive this accolade and look forward to taking on more compelling roles. Here’s to creating more impactful work.”

In the series, directed by Teja Marni and penned by Ram Vamshi Krishna, Vedhika stars as the titular character Yakshini, Maya, who is exiled from her celestial abode, Alkapuri, to live on Earth. She can only lift this curse by eliminating 100 Brahmacharis. As she strives to fulfil this mission and return home, complications arise when her 100th target falls in love with her. The series explores whether she can complete her task or if love will prevail.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 were co-presented by Real Juices and Kühl BLDC Fans, powered by StockGro, in collaboration with Flipkart spoyl, DPauls.com, Amante, Propshop, Aussie Lamb, and Krishii Fiber. The event was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana, featured several other distinguished winners.
