Varun Dhawan is busy with his two upcoming films, Border 2 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. He recently wrapped up a 45-day schedule for Border 2 and is now preparing for the next schedule in Uttarakhand. According to a report, he will then begin shooting for a romantic film directed by his dad, David Dhawan. 

Varun Dhawan's upcoming romantic film

According to Mid-Day, Varun Dhawan is set to appear in his father David Dhawan's romantic film following his roles in Border 2 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The report further indicated that Kannada actress Sreeleela will also star alongside Varun.

Regarding the filming of this untitled project, the publication noted that the experienced director and his crew have secured various iconic locations for the shoot, opting for a combination of impressive urban landscapes and picturesque rural settings.

The source disclosed that Varun and his team are set to conduct extensive filming in London, featuring well-known locations such as Piccadilly Circus, among others. An elaborate dance sequence is planned, which is expected to be one of the film's standout moments.

Additionally, the source mentioned that David Dhawan is eager to infuse a new, international flair into the film while preserving his characteristic humour and vibrancy. In the meantime, Varun is scheduled to travel to London by mid-May, following the completion of his obligations for Border 2 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

About Border 2

Border 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to the 1997 war film Border. Sunny Deol returns to his original role, joined by a new cast featuring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film is directed by Anurag Singh.

Similar to its predecessor, the sequel is expected to draw inspiration from a true account of the India-Pakistan conflict, likely highlighting the valour of Indian soldiers in an alternate wartime context. Border 2 is set to premiere in theatres on January 23, 2026.
