Varun Dhawan is presently in Jaipur to promote his forthcoming film, Baby John. At the event, the actor spoke about the tragic stampede incident related to Pushpa 2 and offered his support for Allu Arjun. In a video released by a paparazzi, Varun Dhawan remarked, "There are safety protocols in place. An actor cannot shoulder all the responsibility. We can communicate with those around us. For instance, I can mention that Cinepolis has made excellent arrangements here, and we are thankful for that."
He continued, "The incident that occurred is truly heartbreaking. I extend my condolences. However, I believe that one cannot place the blame solely on a single individual."
What happened at the Pushpa 2 screening
On December 4, Allu Arjun, accompanied by the Pushpa 2 team, attended a screening of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A significant number of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the star, which unfortunately resulted in a stampede-like scenario, leading to the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman and the hospitalization of her son. In the aftermath of this incident, Allu Arjun expressed his condolences and pledged financial support of ₹25 lakh to the family of the deceased.
In a recent development, the Hyderabad police have arrested Allu Arjun concerning the incident. Authorities stated that a case has been filed against the actor, his security personnel, and the theatre management at the Chikkadpally police station, citing sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint lodged by the family of the deceased.
