Varun Dhawan is currently focused on promoting his upcoming movie, Baby John. He shared some insights about the hard work that went into creating the intense action scenes for the film, which is set to hit theaters on December 25. In a chat with Variety, Varun mentioned that Baby John explores a mix of themes, comparing it to an ‘Indian Thali.’

What Varun mentioned

During the interview, Varun shared, “When I was a kid, I was really into this movie called Hum by Mukul Anand, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, who takes on a sort of double role. Baby John explores similar ideas. It also touches on the theme of protecting women in our country and how that’s approached. Plus, it offers a solution, contrasting good parenting with bad parenting. It’s like an Indian Thali, showcasing a mix of different cultural flavors.”

There wasn't a day filled with bright sunshine

Varun, who previously starred in Prime Video India's spy action series Citadel: Honey Bunny, mentioned that the filming style for Baby John was definitely the toughest he's faced as an actor.

“When I worked on Citadel: Honey Bunny with [directors] Raj and DK, it honestly felt like a walk in the park because it was set up so differently. No day of shooting was ever easy. There were no light days at all. Everything felt intense and grand,” he shared.

Baby John, directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, known for Jawan, is set to hit theaters on Christmas. The film features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav, with a special cameo by Salman Khan.

Right now, Varun is busy filming Shashank Khaitan's romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. He also has David Dhawan's comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai lined up.
