A particular video featuring Varun and Kiara Advani gained attention after he unexpectedly kissed her on the cheek during a magazine shoot. Additionally, during the promotional activities for Jugjugg Jeeyo, Varun was seen attempting to push Kiara into a pool, capturing her surprised reaction on camera, which quickly went viral on social media. In his recent conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Varun addressed these allegations, asserting that the interactions were all in the spirit of "good fun."
Regarding the spontaneous kiss, he clarified that it was a mutually agreed-upon act between them. The Main Tera Hero actor stated, "I’m pleased you brought this up. It was intentional. Both Kiara Advani and I shared that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they requested some movement and action, so we coordinated that." In response to Kiara's astonished expression, he remarked, "She’s a talented actress. It was entirely premeditated. I will acknowledge when things are not spontaneous." When questioned about the pool incident, he conceded that it was not premeditated and was a deliberate action. He further explained, "It was all in good fun. It wasn’t planned. That’s simply my nature, I suppose."

The host also inquired about the video of him and Alia that emerged during the promotional activities for their film. In the footage, he was seen placing his hand on her abdomen at a media event. Addressing this, he clarified, "It was all in good fun. It was not intended as flirting. We are friends." When asked if he enjoys flirting with his co-stars, he responded, "Playful teasing, when done in a positive and enjoyable environment, is fine, regardless of whether it involves a man or a woman. I also have fun with my male co-stars, but that rarely gets mentioned."
