Law student Rakshit Chaurasia, who faces charges related to a reckless driving incident that led to the fatalities of eight people, including a woman, in Vadodara, seems to have been influenced by a Danish film. Reports indicate that law enforcement authorities believe his infamous chant of "another round" after the event alludes to this film.

On Monday, a report from the Times of India referenced police sources suggesting that Chaurasia was referencing the film Another Round as he exited his vehicle and shouted the phrase. The suspect was captured on video yelling the phrase next to his damaged car shortly after the incident occurred. The report also stated that authorities found a poster of Another Round in his rented apartment in the city.

What is Another Round?

Another Round is a Danish film that debuted in 2020, starring Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role. The story revolves around four high school teachers who embark on an experiment to maintain a steady level of alcohol in their systems, with the goal of boosting their creativity and confidence. The film received extensive acclaim from critics and won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. In Denmark, it was released under the title Druk, which means Binge Drinking. The Vadodara Police have suggested that Chaurasiya may have been inspired by the film; however, it remains unclear whether he was actually intoxicated at the time of the incident.

A tragic accident in Vadodara, Gujarat, involving a car and a two-wheeler resulted in the death of a woman, while eight others were reported injured, as per police reports released on Saturday.

The driver involved in the incident, identified as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, is presently in police custody. Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar stated that the collision involved multiple vehicles, including two Activa scooters and one electric vehicle (EV).
