Koushani Mukherjee is known to be a glamorous Tollywood actress who shot to fame as she teamed up with her boyfriend Bonny Sengupta. However, Koushani has started exploring her career as a versatile actress. In Raj Chakraborty’s web series, Abar Proloy, Koushani ditches her glamourous avatar and plays the character of a disciple of a godman. Her performance was liked by viewers. Now she will be seen in another avatar in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Puja release Bohurupi. There, she will pair up with Shiboprosad Mukherjee for the first time.
Recently, her look as Jhimli in the film Bohurupi was released and that initiated a lot of conversation. In the photos, Koushani has sandal paste on her forehead and a nose ring. She has a palash in her hair bun and she is seen in a sari.
Now Bonny reacted to Koushani’s journey. “I saw her today in such a look (in Bohurupi) for the first time. She told me a part of the story. Shibuda and Nanditadi's stories are always good. I think people will like the film,” the actor told Anandabazar Online.
Bonny further said he was happy for Koushani getting so many different roles. “When we started as a pair, people wanted to watch a certain kind of film. Now it has changed. The number of people who can experiment is few in our industry. Actors can't prove themselves if they don't get a chance. Koushani got it and could bring the change within herself. I am happy to see her.”
But the Bonny and Koushani pair are breaking up. Does he feel sad? Bonny said, “Old pairs break up and new pairs are born. Shibuda and Koushani's pair, if it happens, will be awesome and something new.” However, Bonny gave a bit more points to Raj Chakraborty. “Rajda is our mentor. I will definitely keep him ahead. However, I have not yet watched Shibuda's work,” he said.
Bonny also knows that it was not easy for Koushani to play Jhimli in Bohurupi. Shooting with different looks in the scorching heat of Bolpur was tough. However, he is certain that people would love Koushani's work in the film.
