The most recent Malayalam film, Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys, is now available on digital platforms. Since its August 15 theatrical release, the film has received nothing but positive reviews from audiences. Though there are differences in social media users' perspectives about the coming-of-age drama, most of them praise the film for having timely themes, especially for men. Amith Mohan, who was a major character in the movie, has now responded to the trolls on social media.

Vaazha star Amith Mohan's reaction to trolls

The actor and social media influencer pokes fun at himself by stating that he is 'on air' right now because of the trolls and that he values everyone's perspective on his role in the movie. He received encouragement from the rest of the cast on his Instagram post as well. Amith's portrayal in a sequence where his character has an emotionally charged exchange with his father has drawn criticism from some quarters. Some have drawn comparisons between his portrayal in that scene and Vikram's in Anniyan's most popular scene.

Mixed response for Vaazha on OTT

Aside from Malayalam, the comedy-drama started to stream on Disney+ Hotstar on September 23 in multiple languages. Many pointed out that Vaazha's situational humor works well, and the cast members deliver strong performances. Most spectators cheered at the film's father-son sequences, claiming that most of them had gone through something similar at some point in their lives.

Several people have also voiced their disapproval of the movie's plot on social media. Some have also pointed out that Hashir, the social media influencer, was not required to be the focus of this film, considering how wonderfully the other actors perform.

However, several people online disputed the negative comments made about Vaazha on social media, arguing that the movie should be applauded for its straightforward premise and that such criticism is needless. The screenplay for this film was written by Vipin Das, who directed Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. The film was helmed by Anand Menon.
