Actor Urvashi Rautela has recently encountered significant criticism on social media due to her inappropriate remarks regarding the stabbing incident involving actor Saif Ali Khan. While denouncing the attack, Urvashi showcased her diamond-encrusted jewellery, an act that many considered to be lacking in sensitivity. In light of the extensive backlash, the actor has since apologized to Saif, explaining that she was not fully aware of the gravity of his circumstances when she made her comments.

What did Urvashi say

In an interview with ANI, Urvashi was questioned regarding the assault on Saif. While she conveyed her concern for the actor, Urvashi faced criticism for showcasing her diamond ring during the discussion.

Regarding the incident where Saif was stabbed at his residence in Mumbai, Urvashi remarked, “It is indeed unfortunate. Now Daaku Maharaaj has surpassed ₹105 crore at the box office, and my mother presented me with this diamond-studded Rolex, while my father gifted me this mini watch on my finger. However, we do not feel secure wearing it openly outside. There exists a sense of insecurity that anyone could attack us. What transpired was truly unfortunate."

Her remarks sparked a significant reaction on social media, with users expressing their disapproval. One comment stated, "Urvashi appears to be completely out of touch, genuinely delusional." Another noted, "She has essentially informed potential robbers that she possesses a very expensive watch." A further comment read, "Given Urvashi's history, this reaction is somewhat expected... there seems to be something amiss with her." Another user remarked, "Delulu is the new soul. I aspire to be as oblivious and self-centred as she is. Perhaps my life would be simpler that way. For her, ignorance is bliss."

Urvashi issues an apology note

On Friday, Urvashi acknowledged the criticism directed at her for her remarks and subsequently issued an apology on Instagram. She expressed that she had not fully grasped the seriousness of the matter prior to this.

“Dear Saif Ali Khan sir, I hope this message reaches you in good spirits. I am writing to convey my profound regret and sincere apologies. Until now, I was entirely unaware of the severity of the situation you are enduring. I feel a deep sense of shame for allowing myself to be swept up in the excitement surrounding Daaku Maharaaj and the gifts I received, rather than taking a moment to recognize and comprehend what you are experiencing,” Urvashi stated in her note.

She continued, “I kindly ask you to accept my heartfelt apologies for my ignorance and insensitivity. Now that I am aware of the seriousness of your circumstances, I am genuinely moved and wish to offer my steadfast support. Your grace, dignity, and resilience in the face of such adversity are truly commendable, and I hold nothing but profound respect for your strength.”

Urvashi conveyed her profound remorse for her actions, assuring Saif and his family that her "thoughts and prayers" are with them. 

"Should there be any opportunity for me to assist or provide support, please feel free to reach out. I sincerely apologize once more, sir, for my previous lack of consideration. I am committed to improving and will strive to prioritize empathy and understanding moving forward," she concluded the message.

What we know about the attack on Saif Ali Khan

On Thursday morning, an intruder reportedly broke into Saif's residence and stabbed him. The actor sustained several injuries, including one near his spine and another on his neck. He was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent several surgical procedures. Currently, the actor is no longer in critical condition and is in the process of recovery. As of Friday, the Mumbai police announced that no suspects had been apprehended in relation to the incident.
