Urvashi Rautela Cuts Ties with Ranveer Allahbadia Amid "India's Got Latent" Controversy

2 months ago | 5 Views

Urvashi Rautela is the latest star to step back from YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia after his controversial remarks on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. She's even unfollowed him on social media.

On top of that, she’s pulled out of her upcoming guest spot on Ranveer's podcast that was supposed to happen soon.

Urvashi responds

Urvashi was supposed to be a guest on Ranveer's popular podcast, which has become a go-to spot for celebs to promote their new movies, according to online reports.

But after the major backlash Ranveer received for his controversial incest comment on India's Got Latent, Urvashi has chosen to back out of the podcast.

There are also rumors that she unfollowed him on Instagram, but she hasn't made any official comments about her decision yet. Recently, Urvashi starred with Nandamuri Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj, which did really well at the box office.

Something went down

Ranveer, known as Beerbiceps, dropped a pretty controversial joke about sex and parents during an episode of India’s Got Latent, which had guests like Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Mukhija. He posed the question, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” This comment didn’t sit well with the audience and social media users, leading to a wave of backlash.

The Consequences

Ranveer faced backlash for his joke and later apologized, admitting it was a ‘lack of judgment’ on his part. He mentioned in a video, “I don’t want to be someone who takes that responsibility lightly. Disrespecting family is the last thing I’d ever do. I need to make better use of this platform.” Samay also addressed the situation, revealing he’s removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube. “My goal was just to make people laugh and enjoy themselves. I’m ready to fully cooperate with any investigations to ensure everything is handled fairly,” he stated.

As reported by PTI, the Mumbai police took statements from seven individuals, including Ashish, on Thursday. ANI noted that the Assam Police has issued new summons to Ashish, Ranveer, Apoorva, Jaspreet Singh, and others due to a complaint alleging they are promoting obscenity. A senior official from the Assam Police confirmed that a team has been dispatched to Mumbai for further investigation.
