Urmila Matondar has been married to Mohsin Akhtar Mir for 8 years. But the latest report suggests that the actress filed for a divorce from her husband. The report also mentioned that the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms. 

Urmila Matondkar reportedly files for divorce

Hindustan Times reported that actress Urmila Matondkar has filed for divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir nearly after 8 years of marriage. 

Although the reason behind it is unclear, the source told the portal, "After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms."

Urmila and Mohsin had tied the knot back on February 4, 2016 in an intimate ceremony. At the time, their wedding caused a stir for not only being inter-faith, but also carrying a 10-year age gap between the duo.

Who is Mohsin Akhtar Mir?

Mohsin is a businessman and model from Kashmir. The couple first met each other at designer Manish Malhotra's niece's wedding in 2014. Notably, Manish was one of the few public figures present at their intimate nuptials. Urmila and Mohsin had a paid a visit to Amritsar's Golden Temple, followed by a Nikah.

He did projects like Luck By Chance (2009) Mumbai Mast Kallander (2011) as well as B.A. Pass (2012). Mohsin also decided to monetize on his business acumen and is now reportedly associated with Manish Malhotra's label.

Urmila Matondkar once opened up about her intimate wedding

In an earlier interview with, Urmila once opened up about her intimate wedding with Mohsin. She said, "I always used to say it will happen at the right time with the right person. So yes, I think marriage needs to be another space in your life which hopefully makes it better, and takes your life, personality, and everything into a better space. Because growth and evolution need to be a consistent part of human life, that’s what I have believed from my childhood. So that growth needs to be there, and that your companion brings into your life.”
